Denyse Burns has over 25 years of experience in business consulting, training, program development and sales, and has worked with audiences ranging from Fortune 500 vice presidents and CEOs to middle managers and salespeople. The industries she has served include: financial services, utilities, information technology, telecommunications, consumer goods and transportation.

In 1994, Denyse co-founded The Madison Consulting Group, a communications training and consulting company. In 2002, she established Madison-Burns & Associates, LLC and formed a business alliance with The Kiely Company, LLC in 2005. She continues to train and consult in the areas of leadership development, sales and customer service. The firm focuses on the development of workshops in leadership, management and communication skills and on supporting and coaching clients in the successful application of these skills to their business needs

Clients rely on Denyse’s expertise to help them clarify their objectives and pinpoint specific communication issues. She specializes in interpersonal communication, management development, and executive coaching and works with executives, managers, and directors to improve their professional performance and leadership skills. Her work explores how to communicate successfully at all levels whether the aim is to create a more flexible management style, relate upwards, or motivate others.

An accomplished consultant and speaker, Denyse has developed and led numerous workshops, currently is a guest lecturer in the Executive MBA (EMBA) program and the MBA program at Columbia Business School and has also guest lectured in the MBA program at Fordham University, New York University - Continuing Education Division and the Human Resources Association of New York.

  • At Columbia Business School she deliveres workshops on Presentation Skills, Communicating Assertively, Influencing Skills, Managing Up, Professionalism in the Workplace and Strategies for Success. She is also involved in the Leadership Coaching program (providing one on one coaching based on a 360 feedback assessment)

  • At New York University she lectures on Facilitation Skills

She holds Bachelors’ degrees in Psychology and Education
Masters of Education: Coaching and Counseling.
Certificate in Transformational Coaching (Coaching from the Inside Out).
Certified to administer and interpret MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Inventory); Inscape’s “DISC “Personal Development Profile”, Tracom Social Styles, Human Synergistic “LSI” Lifestyle Inventories and FIRO-B.

Prior to establishing Madison-Burns & Associates, she was a founder and principal in The Madison Consulting Group. Denyse also consulted for Xerox Learning Systems (now Achieve Global). She speaks fluent French.
